Billing

If you have a non-contract monthly recurring membership, you can easily cancel or even put your account on hold for free by swinging into a location.

It is 100% free to cancel or freeze your account, and only takes a minute.

For your protection we do not make any changes to your account over the phone. You must make changes or cancel your account in person or in writing to Customer Service by the 10th of the month in order to not be billed (if you cancel after the 10th of the month we will not be able to stop the billing from going through).

Just simply swing by a location before the 10th of the month, let the employee know you’d like to cancel, and they will print out a form for you to sign. You will still be able to tan through the 15th of that month as long as you have a fingerprint security scan on your account.

Note: If you have just signed up and have never been billed before, you must be billed at least one month before your account can be cancelled. Our memberships are monthly memberships, and do require at least one month in order for it to be a monthly membership. This does not apply to contract memberships.

What happens when I cancel? The process only takes a minute to print out the form and is very easy. When you cancel, keep in mind that you will lose any store credit you’ve earned (rewards), and forfeit any member upgrades currently on your account. You can have the upgrades reinstated under a Guest account (non member account) by contacting Customer Service. Please note that non-member accounts deduct sessions from your upgrades at twice the rate (Members get a discount in this area, and if you cancel your membership you will no longer get the member discount). You also may have to pay a startup fee when you return to sign back up. We suggest that you put your account on hold (Freeze) for free to avoid these changes.

If you do not have a contract membership, you have 2 options for putting your account on hold:

 

FREEZE: Available for non-contract memberships, this option is 100% free. It allows you to put your account on hold for up to 2 months at a time. At the end of your 2 months, your membership will automatically restart. If you want to come back early, you can with No fees and only have to pay the rest of the month you want to tan in.

IT PAYS TO STAY: This is an extended freeze option that allows you to put your account on hold for as long as you like. Your account stays active* for the duration of this hold. It only costs $5/mo.

*although your account is active, you will not be able to actively use your account or take advantage of sales, discount sessions, etc. unless you remove the It Pays to Stay membership and start back up your regular membership.

You will still be able to tan through the 15th of that month as long as you have a fingerprint security scan on your account.

WHY WOULD I WANT TO STAY? The reasons to stay, instead of cancelling, are numerous. If you cancel, and plan to return, you may have to pay a startup fee again, you would lose all of your store credit you’ve accumulated, and forfeit all of your member upgrades. Choosing an option of Freeze, or It Pays to Stay, allows you to keep these bonuses, and saves you money in the long run.

While you may pay cash on your first visit to setup your account, depending on the membership you’ve chosen you may be required to use a Credit Card, Debit Card, or even a Checking or Savings Account. Automatic billing allows us to save costs in daily billing and cash payments allowing us to offer lower prices and more services.

We would love to bring you this feature very soon and are working hard to do so. You may make changes at your local salon in-person, or by contacting Customer Service. We would be very happy to help you in any way that is convenient for you.

Hours vary by store. Please contact your local salon to find out the hours for your area. Customer Service’s hours are: Monday 7-5, Tuesday-Friday 7-6, Saturday 9-6, and closed on Sundays.

No, we do not currently offer franchises for Darque Tan.

You must be 18 years of age or older to tan and will be required to show identification in order to set up an account. If you are under the age of 18, and would like to get a tan, we also offer spray tanning as an option.

While there are no legal minimum age restrictions for spray tanning, our company policy does not permit anyone under the age of 16 from doing spray tan without a parent or guardian present to directly supervise. Spray tanners of all ages must adhere to safety precautions posted and instructed including use of eyewear, nose filters, etc.

Children are allowed in the lobby areas or kids rooms if accompanied by an adult. Salon staff are not licensed by the state to watch any children, nor are they able to safely and effectively monitor them with all of the distractions of an open to the public business. Children are never allowed in tanning rooms, spray tanning rooms, or spa service rooms –with or without a parent.

We don’t wait for bulbs to go out before changing them! We change our bulbs out at 70% of their estimated life as a preventative maintenance step to ensure the bulbs are always fresh and new.

Absolutely! You may use your tans or spray tans at any location nationwide. If you have a membership you may use it at any location nationwide unless otherwise stipulated in your membership agreement.

Nope! There are no time dates or expiration dates on packages or sessions purchased. They are there until you use them.

We do not have appointments, but we do allow you Skip the Line via the Darque Tan App for iPhone or Android. This allows you to add yourself on our waitlist up to 30 minutes before you even arrive, saving you time when you come in.

To ensure our employees are able to get out of the salon on time, all of our beds automatically shut off 5 minutes prior to closing. Employees are not permitted to extend this time for customers. Please ensure you arrive with enough time so that the bed does not shut off.

This will vary depending on whether you are spray tanning or regular tanning, what your goal color is, ad where you’re starting from, and your natural skin type. Determining your skin type and goals is an important first step. This can be done in the salon by taking a Skin Type Analysis, or via the Darque Tan App for iPhone or Android.

Our fingerprint scanners do not save any fingerprints at all. When you scan your finger for the first time, the scanner measures the points of your fingerprint. Each time you scan your finger again, it measures again to see if it gets the same measurements as the last time. We do not have the capability nor the need to store any actual fingerprints in our systems.

Why Fingerprint Scanners?

As many accounts have significant amounts of money invested into them via packages and store credit, it is important we ensure the individual using the account is, in fact, the account holder. This option is more time convenient, effective, and efficient than asking for identification every time you come in.

Spray Tanning

The difference lies in the application process and the viscosity of the solution and the features of the booth.

The Mystic Tan is great for quick, even, full-body coverage. It is our most popular booth and is available at all of our locations nationwide. It supplies quick color that develops over 6-8 hours and lasts up to 5 days.

The Versa Spa is an airbrush-style booth that gives more dramatic, deeper, and richer color that lasts longer. It develops in 4-6 hours and lasts 5-7 days. It also has features such as a heater, a drying function, and an option for moisturizing spray applied after your sunless tan is applied.

The Norvell Booth is an airbrush-style booth that is the intersection between custom airbrush and spray booth technology. It?gives the deepest, richest, and longest lasting tan. It develops in 4-6 hours and lasts up to 5-7 days. It also has features such as a drying function, DownDraft? Technology that pulls the mist away from your face and an option for moisturizing spray applied after your sunless tan is applied.

All are extraoridnary options, the absolute best brands in the industry, and will supply even, natural looking results every time.
