Information We Collect

Online

We collect only anonymous data to help better understand and maintain our sites functionality, what our customers are interested in viewing the most (and working on moving those to easier-to-find areas of the site), as well as basic demographic information provided by Google Analytics, such what type of device customers use the most to access our site, to better understand our online customer and make their experience more tailored and smooth. We do not currently collect or store any personally indentifiable customer data on this site (www.darquetan.com) as this site is meant to be a read-only representation of our current offerings, services, etc. All customer information provided in-store is also not stored on this site, and remains stored at your local store and/or on our secure, separate servers.

EXTERNAL LINKS: Although our site does not collect any personally identifying information, we do provide external links and resources that may have their own privacy policies. Please make sure you are aware of what data or information these external links (outside of www.darquetan.com) is being collected. While we will never post any link that does not adhere to our own very strict vision of keeping your information private and secure, each site does have it’s own privacy policy depending on what that site offers (i.e. a link to our Darque Tan App would have a different privacy policy than the link to our Daily Deals site). Please make sure to read each privacy policy carefully so you understand the nuances and differences between the sites & links.

In-Store

The information we collect in-store of our customers are mostly required by law. The information we must collect based on Federal, State, Local regulations includes information such as Full Name, Birthdate, Address, and Phone Number. We also must collect information regarding your Skin Type (which is assessed on your first visit), your full and complete tanning history including times, dates, minutes, room number, and bed type. In addition we are required to keep any information regarding negative reactions that may have occurred while using any of our equipment (i.e. burning). For tax purposes, we also must keep a record of all purchases made. All of this information is tied to your account, encrypted, and stored on our off-site secure servers. It is accessible only at the salon-level and by Customer Service. If you are on a monthly membership, your billing information is never accessible once entered. We will only ever have access to the last 4 digits of your card number for reference purposes only. For security, we do not store your credit card information on our servers or at our salons.

In addition to what is legally required for us to collect, we may also collect information deemed necessary for each individual customer. This may be information such as your allergies you’ve made us aware of, certain brands/ingredients of lotion you cannot use, or do not prefer, as well as bed preferences you may like or unable to use. This data is used solely to make your experience streamlined, easy, and more comfortable and is not typically saved as a permanent part of your record with us, but merely as a note on your account for easy reference.
